Account deletion

Deleting your Fondays account
You can ask us to delete your Fondays account and the photos you uploaded at any time, for any reason. You don't have to give us one.
The fastest way is in the app: deleting there happens immediately, with no request to wait on. If you no longer have Fondays installed, email us instead and we'll do it for you.
From the app
- Open Fondays and go to the Me tab.
- Tap Delete account.
- Confirm on the sheet that appears.
That's it — the account and its photos are erased right then, and the app signs you out. Nothing is queued and nobody has to approve it, so there's no undo.
By email
If you've already removed the app, email support@fondays.com from the address you signed in with, with the subject Delete my account.
We use the sending address to confirm the request is really yours. If you can't email from that address, tell us and we'll find another way to verify you — we won't delete an account on an unverified request, because that would let someone else erase your photos.
What gets deleted, and when
Deleting in the app takes effect immediately. If you email us instead, we complete it within 30 days of verifying the request, and usually much sooner.
| Data | What happens |
|---|---|
| Your profile — name, email, sign-in identity, profile photo | Erased |
| Photos and videos you uploaded, and their thumbnails | Erased from our storage |
| Your pool memberships, invites, and tags on photos | Erased |
| Pools you host that other people are in | Handed to another member — see below |
| Pools you host with nobody else left in them | Erased, photos and all |
| Push notification tokens and device records | Erased |
| Order and payment records | Kept — see below |
Deletion is permanent. We can't restore an account or its photos afterwards, so download anything you want to keep before you ask.
If you host an event
Leaving doesn't take everyone else's photos with you. For each pool you host that still has other members, ownership passes automatically to the longest-standing member who can edit it, and the pool carries on — including any event pass you paid for. Your own uploads are erased from it, like they are everywhere else.
A pool with nobody else left in it is deleted outright, photos and all. If you want a specific person to take a pool over, hand it to them from the pool's member list before you delete your account.
What we have to keep
A small amount of data survives deletion, only where we're required to keep it or need it to finish something you asked for:
- Order and invoice records — Indian tax and accounting law requires us to retain records of completed purchases. These keep the order and payment details, but are unlinked from your deleted profile.
- Orders still in production or transit — we keep the photos and shipping address for that specific order until it's delivered, then remove them.
- Subscription records held by Apple or Google — your purchase history lives in your App Store or Play account, not ours. Deleting your Fondays account doesn't cancel a subscription. Cancel that in your store account settings, or it will keep renewing.
- Backups — deleted data can persist in encrypted backups for up to 30 further days before those rotate out.
Smaller options first
If you don't want to lose everything, there may be a lighter option:
- Delete individual photos you've uploaded, from the photo itself.
- Leave a single pool — your uploads to it go with you, and the rest of your account stays.
- Turn off notifications from your device settings, and just stop using the app.
