The group trip photo problem
Twelve people, one trip, twelve camera rolls that never quite get shared. Here is the fix.

Everyone on the trip took photos. Almost nobody shared them. This happens on essentially every group holiday, and the reason is not laziness.
Why it fails
Sharing after a trip requires each person to do four things: remember, find the photos among a fortnight of camera roll, select the good ones, and upload them somewhere. That is real effort, spent on a task with no deadline, at a moment when everyone has just returned to work.
So one person posts an album, two people react to it, and the other nine camera rolls are never seen by anyone.
The fix is to collect during, not after
The best moment to gather photos is the trip itself — on the train, in the evening, in the airport queue home. People are still in it, the photos are recent, and there is dead time to fill.
Set the shared album up before you leave and put the link in the group chat on day one. Not as a request, just as a thing that exists.
What makes people actually add
- No account. Any sign-up wall halves participation immediately.
- They can see everyone else's. The pull of seeing other people's photos does more than any reminder.
- Full resolution. Someone will want to print the good one from the hike.
- It stays open. The straggler who uploads three weeks later is normal, not a problem.
The photos you are actually missing
The point of collecting everyone's is not volume. It is that you are not in your own photos. Every picture of you on that trip is on someone else's phone — and those are the ones you will want in ten years, not the eleventh shot of the view.
You have hundreds of photos of the trip and almost none of yourself. Somebody else has those.
